Privacy & security
Your recovery data should stay yours.
Trusting an app with something as personal as an addiction is a big deal — and you deserve to know exactly what happens to what you write here. So here it is, in plain language and no fine print: your sensitive notes are encrypted, your data is never sold, and you can export everything or delete it all at any time.

The plain promise
- Your data belongs to you — not advertisers, not anyone else.
- Your recovery data is never sold or shared.
- You can download everything, or delete it all, whenever you want.
Yours, not shared
Your account and your records stay with SoberMe. We don't pass them to other companies to hold or manage.
Encrypted where it matters
Your most personal entries — journals, notes, companion chats — are scrambled so they can't be read by anyone who shouldn't.
You're in control
Download your data or delete your account from the More tab, anytime — no emails, no waiting.
What is stored
The data SoberMe needs to work
Your sign-in
Your email, and a scrambled version of your password — never the real one.
Your recovery profile
Your goal, what you're working on, your triggers, high-risk times, quit date, and your settings.
Your recovery records
Your check-ins, cravings, journal entries, lapses, recovery plan, emergency contacts, and chats with your companion.
Safety moments
If something you write suggests you might be at risk, we note the bare minimum — what kind of moment it was and when — so we know support was offered. We never copy what you actually wrote.
What we never do
A few lines we won't cross
We never sell your data, and there are no ads.
No hidden trackers following you around.
We don't hand your sign-in over to anyone else.
No other company holds your recovery records.
Crisis support never depends on the AI — or even an internet connection. It always works.
Security
How your data is kept safe
Your password stays secret
We never store your actual password — only a scrambled version that even we can't reverse.
Sensitive notes are encrypted
Your journals, notes, lapse reflections, companion chats, emergency contacts, and recovery plan are scrambled before they're ever stored.
Locked by default
Your encrypted notes can only be unlocked to show them back to you — never exposed to anyone else.
Kept with SoberMe
Your records aren't handed off to other companies to store or look after.
AI & safety
Extra care around the companion
Safety comes first
Everything you say to your companion is checked for signs of crisis before anything else happens. If you're at risk, you'll get support and real-world resources right away.
Your chats stay yours
When the AI is on, your messages aren't kept or reused by anyone outside SoberMe. Your chat history lives only in your own encrypted records — and it's gone the moment you delete your account.
Your controls
What you can do, anytime
Export everything
Download a copy of everything you've saved, from the More tab.
Delete it all
Delete your account and everything tied to it — for good, in one tap.
Safety moments
We keep only the bare minimum — never the details of what you wrote.
This is a plain-language summary of how we handle your data, not a full legal privacy notice. SoberMe offers support, not treatment — it isn't a therapist, doctor, sponsor, or emergency service.
